...Fashion makes what could be a mudane necessity of everyday life creative, exciting and interesting. Clothes are more to me than just clothes, they are a form of art. Our bodies are like canvas, and when we dress we make a picture in the world! Fashion and personal style for me are forms of self expression and escapism. How we dress is important whether we are choosing to dress to reveal or conceal parts of our personality. It is the way we wish the world to see us, so even if the intention is to dress for the latter it still give us hints to who people are. I love mixing high fashion with vintage. I don't just dress to look pretty and I'm quite experimental..I dress for myself and will wear anything as long as I like it even if others are not quite so sure. It's important that your happy!!

Buzz of the Hummingbird

I have liked hummingbirds since I was young and can remember drawing pictures and writing poems about them. They are still one of my favourite birds today so when I saw this skirt was going to be part of the special Designed collection at Miss Selfridge I new I had to get it!!
It reminded me a little of Mary Katrantzou (who I love) aswell, with the birds but with a more streamline silhouette like some of her pieces from older collections especially if you wear it with a shirt tucked in rather than tied and all buttons done to the top.
The designed by Miss Selfridge collection is really special and is up a level to their mainline stock! A lot of it is sold out online though, so if you are interested it is best to check instores. I have bought a few more pieces from the collection and can not wait to take some pictures and show you all!

Winged Jewel

With wings spun of silver and hearts of gold,
These tiny creatures our hearts behold.
With angelic features and colors so bright,
Make even the heaviest heart seem light.
The magical way they flit through the sky,
They appear, then vanish in the blink of an eye.
They're sending a message for us to retrieve,
Anything's possible for those who believe!
