...Fashion makes what could be a mudane necessity of everyday life creative, exciting and interesting. Clothes are more to me than just clothes, they are a form of art. Our bodies are like canvas, and when we dress we make a picture in the world! Fashion and personal style for me are forms of self expression and escapism. How we dress is important whether we are choosing to dress to reveal or conceal parts of our personality. It is the way we wish the world to see us, so even if the intention is to dress for the latter it still give us hints to who people are. I love mixing high fashion with vintage. I don't just dress to look pretty and I'm quite experimental..I dress for myself and will wear anything as long as I like it even if others are not quite so sure. It's important that your happy!!

Monkey Business

Full of wanderlust I love travelling, experiencing new cultures and visiting new places. Every city I travel to I collect something to add to my closet.
This dress I picked up from Shanghai, from where I have no idea as I had been walking and exploring for several hours seeing where the city would take me.
You can't travel half the world everyday but you can definitely travel your fashion worlds each day wherever they may take you.

POP art has been a huge growing trend with shows like Prada SS11 and SS12 , Meadham Kirchhoff SS12, AW12/13 and SS13, Comme de Garcon AW12 and 3.1 Phillip Lim AW12.

The last few months this trend has hit the streets with a bang probably with the help of TOPSHOP's Comic girl trend collection (a wearable 'street' collection full of superhero brights featuring slogan T's, crops and tube skirts) which has evolved into their Urban Education trend.

One of my favourite collections inspired by POP art is Kate Spetics AW12 HeART Collection.

I love her tongue-in-cheek yet sophisticated take on pop art in fashion which consists of a pastel pallette with splashes of neon yellow and red. Spetic mixes Liechtenstein's 60's pin dot pop art, with classic 50's Madmen styling and sheer fabrics which give it a modern edge.

More inspiration...

Japanese manga artist, Hirohiko Araki collaborated with Frida Giannini to produce Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci for Gucci's Cruise 2013 Collection.
The colourful, fresh and inspiring manga comic art was used in window displays around the world.
