...Fashion makes what could be a mudane necessity of everyday life creative, exciting and interesting. Clothes are more to me than just clothes, they are a form of art. Our bodies are like canvas, and when we dress we make a picture in the world! Fashion and personal style for me are forms of self expression and escapism. How we dress is important whether we are choosing to dress to reveal or conceal parts of our personality. It is the way we wish the world to see us, so even if the intention is to dress for the latter it still give us hints to who people are. I love mixing high fashion with vintage. I don't just dress to look pretty and I'm quite experimental..I dress for myself and will wear anything as long as I like it even if others are not quite so sure. It's important that your happy!!

I HEART MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF

I admire their ability to create something beautiful yet quite shocking and unnerving at the same time. You never know quite what to expect which, adds to the suspense of their shows.
Some of their collections are amongst my all-time favourite fashion shows. Their shows are 'real shows' and they for me are what fashion is about: inspiring people...creating something new..a world..a character...a piece of art.

 Meadham and Kirchhoff AW13/14

MK's helter skelter looped throughout nostalgia with the girls picking up elements from different era's on the way that seemingly fitted together in a way only MK could envisage.

The ride was fun, romantic and melancholy.
The dress up box was made up of a monochrome palette of patent black, creams and a biscuit ('bisquit') like colour.
Inside there were ballerinas, sailors, victorian-style dresses, frilled aprons, yester-year nurses uniforms, Mary Poppin's matron styles, nightgowns, Marie-Antionette style gold bow shoes and swan tiara's that could be paired with the girls 1920's coiled hair.

Meadham Kirchhoff SS13

Meadham and Kirchhoff's Cautionary tale set in De Gournay chinoiserie style, bow filled boudoirs is a romantic yet poignant one.
The cast of rococco milkmaids, with cherub like curls, decked in Marie Antoinette style decadence, Minnie mouse polka dots and 60's parisian couture like embellishment weaved in and out of their dressing rooms picking fresh flowers and eating cake to the sound of birdsong and Pink Floyd's 'money'.

Monster Mash

A colourful explosion of disco glitter, pom poms and monster furs which screamed 70's, disco glam and rocky horror.

Meadham Kirchhoff SS12

A magical wonder-world where sugar sweet plie-ing ballerina's; can-can dancing, talc dabbing, Courtney Loves; flamboyant yet demure show girls; extravagant beauty pageant queens; Regal bubble wigged Marie Antoinettes and clown-like dolls live in harmony together parading through arches of pastel balloons and gold lame curtains and dancing in their ballet slippers, tap-dance shoes or pom-pom topped glittery rubber frilled  flatforms.

Here are some picture I shot based on the Meadham and Kirchhoff SS12 show and some other influences which can be seen in the mood boards.I DIYed the oversized hearts, shoe decorations, ballerina decorated dress, ballerina hemmed skirt and the ballerina tulle collar.
